Bought this hat for a Ratatouille costume. As others have mentioned, the material is thick and very good quality. Unfortunately, this cannot stand straight on its own. Maybe some people have figured out how to do it with starch. I didn’t have the know how to do that, so I just shoved some bubble wrap into the hat to give it some structure and that worked like a charm.

This was a great hat for my husbands ratatouille Halloween costume! I put some tissue paper in there to make sure it would stand up straight it I think it would have been fine without it. Would purchase again

Why did you pick this product vs others?:It was nice used it for a halloween outfit but definitely falls down a bit

If you want the hat to be standing tall like I did then it won’t do that. The hat is very tall and was perfect for a costume, but I had to add a cardboard insert into the hat Inorder for it to stand up straight

Worked well for a ratatouille Halloween costume! Definitely doesn’t stand on its own (could easily stuff it with newspaper, tissue paper, plastic bags etc. to help it stand up), and definitely was wrinkly/needed to be ironed out of the packaging. My husband’s head is pretty large & it fit him well, he appreciated that it was adjustable. Overall a good purchase for its price and it made the costume come together well.

I bought as a gift to our Chef here where I live. He looked great and was very proud of it. I was very pleased with the quality and price. It made a very good gift! Fun too!

if you're thinking about getting this for a ratatouille Halloween costume. Do it. Also buy a small mouse cat toy to hide inside the hat. The hat stood up nice and tall all night.
