Q: Can you use this on an exterior door?

I have several on exterior doors and the finish holds up ok but the internals are not very good. I've had trouble with the internal parts on two of the three that we've bought and schlage doesn't even return emails. So much for the lifetime warranty.

Q: Can this handle be used on a door that is exposed to the outdoors? I'm thinking about using it on my main entry door

Yes you can use this on an entry door - as long as you are comfortable not having a lock within the lever/handle itself .... and rely on an alternative locking mechanism...ie: deadbolt.

Q: Is this a set for one door or do you need to buy two of these per door?

Answers posted from 2015 are INCORRECT. I have a normal French door between rooms. What most people would think would be (2) separate doors. So…if you buy this item, you have to buy (4) of these listed here. Two (2) for each door. Meaning front and back of door. You don’t get (2) handles in each item you buy…just (1) black handle.

No, that is a passage lever for a closet or door you don't want to lock. F40 lat 625 latitude privacy lever is what you want that is perfect for an interior door you want to be able to lock without a key like a bedroom door. They are the same style one locks and one doesn't I bought them both for different applications they look and work great.
