In Canada, a daily serving of a natural health product must contain no more than 6 µg of cadmium for an individual weighing 150 pounds (68 kg) and 3 µg for a 75 lb (34 kg) individual.

Q: Is this raw organic cacao powder? It doesn't say raw on the bag online

Q: So this product has the cal prop warning that it does contain chemicals?

The current packaging for this product is new. I mention this because the prior packaging had a different look and no California Prop warning. I am guessing the packaging (bag) may be harmful and not the cocoa powder. I have been using this product for years and it is certified organic. Just a note, it has come out recently that fast food packaging (wrappers) have chemicals that may be toxic. You can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what is safe and what is not.

Q: How much nutrition is lost putting powder in coffee or hot water? Boiled vs just hot? Is there any benefit to drinking the solids that settle?

Hello,Unfortunately, cacao is quite sensitive to heat. While fiber and protein remain intact, nutrients and powerful compounds may be lost when heated to boiling point. We recommend consuming our cacao powder in its natural form, or added to warm foods and liquids.
