EXCELLENT unit - easy to install and program - and accurate !
Not sure where the "negative" reviews about inaccuracy etc. came from but this unit is a *GEM* !Easy to program - easy to install - AND accurate.Impressed with the "TECH SET" option -- suprisingly SMALL "Swing" variable of only 0.4 degrees - don't NEED less than 1.0 swing - but I think it speaks to how well thought out this unit is(I love the instructions telling the "installer" that this function only "activates after 3 seconds to avoid the homeowner hitting it accidentally" !! LOLBottom line - this is the BEST 5-1-1 stat I've ever come across - easily worth a higher price.One VERY fussy - and satisfied customer.

Great little product
This product shipped on time, looks good, and works great. I think that the installation instructions are for a professional installer. My house is 40 years old, and the wires for the thermostat were not color coded the same way as the installation instructions. A "This Old House" type video on their website would probably be a big help. Mine is up, running, saving me money, and keeping me more comfortable.

Paid for itself in one month!
My expectation was that a timing thermostat would enable me to reduce my electric bill. I couldn't believe the difference; it went from over $250 to less than $30 in one month. Granted, there was a marginal change in the weather, but the value was validated by the power company showing the reduction in cost due to the way I had set the thermostat. Billing for electricity varies with time of day, and sometimes day of week. In my case I was able to put in settings which automatically minimized the usage during peak cost hours, and virtually turned it off when I'm out of the house. The previous one was exactly the same without the timing feature and installation therefore was incredibly simple. I just popped the old one off and popped the timing one on, set it and haven't touched it since. Installation was all of 5 minutes. If you have a traditional thermostat that you manually set over time, I'd highly recommend that you consider one which enables you to set different heat/cooling values for different times.

These work just fine, perform as expected. You can spend alot more $$ on another name brand but they all do the same thing. Full function, programmable, easy to use and easy to read.
