Q: Am I correct that this won't work with full earmuff-style hearing protection?

I have a large-size cap. My head is probably around a 7-5/8 or 7-3/4 size. The cap is loose enough on the sides that it shouldn't interfere with earmuff hearing protection. The upper cap portion is more snug. However, it probably could still accommodate the band that goes between the two earmuffs. If you have a significantly larger head than me, then the cap may be a little tight to accommodate the band that goes between the earmuffs along with your head.

Q: Does this hat include chemicals to block UV? I want a hat without chemicals added to the fabric

Not that I’m aware of, but our hat is several years old.

Q: Is it too big for a 10 years old kid

Thank you for your inquiry. 10 year olds can have a wide variation of head sizes. My son wore an adult large when he was 10, and many 10 years are still in children’s sizes. You can use a tape measure (or a length of string that you will have to hold up to a tape measure) to determine the length. Place the string or tape around your head about 1/8" above your ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. Basically you need to measure your head exactly where the hat will sit. If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size. Compare Another valid method to determine hat size is to try on a hat and check the size. If you don't own a hat, then try on a random hat next time you are visiting a shop that stocks hats. Sizes, even though they do vary depending on the hat maker, are technically universal. You may refer to the sizing chart below if you need to convert a medium to an actual hat size. Q: How does this hat work with a ponytail? Anyone wear while playing tennis?

As long as you can set your ponytail high enough to fit it through the back it would work. Might be easier to coral your hair with a beaded angel wing or African hair clip, it’ll hold your hair really well & the cap will fit over it.
