Very Versatile, Top Quality
These picks are my new favorite. I have Degenerative Joint Disease in both thumbs and have tried many alternatives to a standard flat pick. Being classically trained, I have been working on reinventing myself to incorporate a custom hybrid picking technique. This pick has exceeded my expectations, since now I can efficiently move back and forth from flat picking to finger picking effortlessly, as well as developing my hybrid picking technique better than any other solutions I’ve tried up to this point. The pick fits perfectly on my thumb, since the spring allows for a perfect custom fit to each player’s thumb. While the pick doesn’t pinch my thumb, or feel like it’s going to fall off, I can still use the pick in both directions using only my thumb. My main use is for my electric guitar, though I also use it with my Little Martin steel string with the same excellent results. On the surface the picks may seem expensive, but they are top quality and very well designed. The picks come from Canada, and shipping was fast, arriving within one week.I highly recommend these picks for any guitarist dealing with arthritis in their thumbs, or hybrid pickers looking for a quality, dependable pick. I’m hoping that the pick itself will last for some time without any of the plastic breaking. At this point I would order these again when the time comes, as long as I feel I got my money’s worth out of this 3 pack. After a little over a month of daily use, my first pick is still as good as new.Now I’m waiting for the wineries, breweries and pubs to open back up from this stupid pandemic so I can start earning a living again.I’m glad I tried these picks. I’ve spent a lot of money over the last year on the original Butterfly Picks (the original and knock-offs found on Amazon), Alaska picks, thumb picks that attach with leather, ones that use a silicon tube to attach to my thumb, and basically every system I could find here and from websites. I haven’t looked for anything else since using these, and hopefully these will last me a long time. If so, I’ll be back for more! A very unique pick!

Sorry, these just don't do it for me
I like the idea, but find the execution lacking in refinement. They don't fit any better than a plain jane thumb pick and the spring is not really strong enough to maintain secure positioning on my thumb when flat-picking hard and fast. The contact angle is wrong and the contact patch for my index finger is not where it needs to be. In contrast, the much cheaper Herco single piece thumb/flatpick feels like it was designed with actual picking in mind and functions much, much better. It's still a compromise but hits closer to the mark. Bear in mind, that these are very subjective remarks. These picks might be great for someone else, just not me.

Perfect for finger picking!
After trying other thumb picks and never liking any of them, I saw these and figured I'd give it one more shot. And I'm very glad I did. The Black Mountain picks are excellent! They'll fit any size thumb and are comfortable for long jam sessions. Picking and plucking feel natural and it's not bad for strumming either.

For a beginner, absolutely invaluable
I'm a beginning guitarist and have had trouble keeping standard flatpicks from rotating in my hand as I play. The Black Mountain pick solves this problem instantly. I can forget about hanging on to the pick and concentrate on more immediate concerns. Such as practicing chord transitions and hitting the right notes! One less problem to worry about. The pick is a standard size, so a little bigger than some like the Jazz III. But I've heard they are working on different sizes. I got used to mine pretty quickly. As for durability, I've only had them a short time but no indication of a problem. And, the spring means you can use this pick no matter how large or small your thumb is.

Suburb design
This is exactly what I needed and far superior to the basic thumb pick. It’s well made and works as promised. I’m primarily a finger style player so I don’t flat pick often but I do like to use a flat pick approach for strumming and fast mandolin style Tremolo. Other thumb picks catch on the strings and get loose or pinch and are basically useless for flat picking. If you’re a straight flat picker with only occasional need for finger style this pick might not be worth the adjustment but if you’re 50/50 or more this is the ticket. For me this product is a game changer and I’ll be ordering more.

Love this pick
I damaged the medial nerve in my picking hand, and due to a lack of feeling in my thumb, a flat pick would rotate or otherwise get out of position, especially playing rhythm. I switched to Dunlap XL thumb picks, but never got used to them. Tried these guys, and they feel great, and play like a flat pick that stays in position, or a thump pick. Perfect for me.

Great pick, lots of fun
I bought a 3-pack of these picks, so far been having a lot of fun. The material seems quite sturdy. Not sure exactly on the thickness of the pick component, seems reasonably heavy so maybe like a 1mm thickness? Fits easily and comfortably onto my thumb, minimal slipping. Feels good when playing, definitely the most comfortable thumb pick I've ever used.

Guitar player for Decades and this pick is finally what I was looking for you can strike five strings at the same time time no palming pick when tapping strums great you can pop strings for a funk soun without dropping the pick. Takes a few hours but an experienced player will be able to do sweeping etc great for boom tika stuff much better than standard thumb picks for alternate piecking 1 .5 mm is a little thicker than I like but may be they fool out thinner model

Buying direct is cheaper
I have used my thumb pic and fingers to play jazz and melody for the last few years and I find this to be the best pic to use. Buying from the source is all so much cheaper than in the store
