Q: Inside is enamel / coating of any kind or just cast iron?

I have the 800 ml HwaGui cast iron teapot - it has no enamel coating on the inside or outside just pure cast iron that I place directly on my gas stove top. The 800 ml size is perfect for a solo tea drinker and I can get 2 full 10 oz mugs of tea from one filling with a small amount left over The tea pot looks great, pours smoothly without drips and it holds the heat well.

Q: Dozens of these kinds of kettles, same problem: cheap "enamel" spray paint peels off from inside. Anyone using this at least a year w no problems?

Sorry I can't help. I bought the cast iron tea pot without the enamel lining, preferring the tea brewing quality of the exposed iron.

Q: Can this be used on a flat surface electric stove top?

no idea. sent it back. cook with gas.
