End game
This is a long one, but to cut it short, these represent end game audio reproduction, and I have some authority to say that. I've listened to Stax electrostatic headphones, 200+ thousand dollar stereo systems, the list goes on. I've been around the block with audio, and moreover, I'm young and have more sensitive ears, and have listen to very demading music. These cans, even running off an iPhone jack, will do you right. They might struggle the tiniest bit with queiter recordings on an iPhone, but it's not enough of an issue to annoy me. They are as sensitive as a lot of IEMs I have used. With an amp or a more powerful output from a Macbook, they will rock your socks off. They produce incredible sound driven even insanely loud. They have a beautifully balanced sound, very flat but perhaps more analytical in the treble than my Sennheiser HD600s tend to be, with an incredibly well controlled and balanced low end for a closed back headphone. The sound is at the point where there is no obvious flaw in the reproduction, which for the price is incredible. They are good enough to use for rudimentary mastering, once their sonic signature is understood. They are balanced enough to really draw out flaws in a recording, but at the same time, they are very pleasant and listenable and deal with every genre well. They are perfect for travelling, they are well isolated both from external noise and in terms of the amount of sound they leak out, not to mention they are as comfortable as any headphone I have worn. They are built like absolute tanks as you can expect too, and on this model the cord is fantastic enough that I'm not even worried about it not being user replaceable. The cable is the perfect length. The only gripe I have is that because of the way the headband works, they cannot sit around your neck when you take them off. But you get used to it, and that's a consequence of the comfortable design and the gigantic driver that gives them their autority with the low end. Buy these. If I was on a desert island, they would be enough for me, and I am as picky as they come. Honestly, anything above these is boderline-placebo difference. They sound stunning.

best closed back headphones I have ever owned
In summary being a 32 ohm resistance means they can easily be powered by your phone or mp3 player or your hifi, laptop or tv. They are very well built and have an incredible sound. At the price point they are probably unbeatable.for those who want more detail:Over the years I have probably owned well over 50 pairs of earphones ranging from earbuds to closed back to open back. Each has its own drawbacks and benefits, so lets just talk about what these headphones are designed for. The main benefit of closed back headphones is that you get bigger speakers which gives a much more refined sound and that they block the sound from being heard by anyone else. Firstly the sound is awsome, incredible even I have a very wide musical taste and have tried them for every genre I own. The sound is so clear that you can hear each instrument very cleanly, the sound is perfect as a reference set of headphones because their is no distortion of the sound from deep bass to high treble. As for the noise cancelling its not 100% but its so close it hardly matters. For headphones without noise cancelling features they are as good if not better than many so called noise cancelling headphones and certainly produce a much cleaner reproduction of what you are listening too.I almost forgot the build quality of the headphones which is worthy of note. The speaker brackets are metal and even then they are very light and comfortable for long listening periods. The earpads and headphone strap are easily replaced but the quality is so good you probably wont wear them out for a very long time.

Damn good, must buy if you're a previous Sennheiser 598 or below user!
First, let me get the packaging/presentation out of the way -- it wasn't great. There's no foam protection, or anything fancy other than a business-like drawstring bag. They were also shipped from Germany in a plastic Amazon bag with no bubble wrap, not even an Amazon cardboard box with the paper padding; this resulted in the product's box taking a little beating in transit. However, they arrived perfectly fine and usable. Now onto the good news... These are good, really good. I used the Sennheiser HD 558 for 5 years and the Sennheiser HD 598SR for 3 years. These are a seamless transition into closed-back headphones from these great open-back headphones. I'm not even 30 minutes into wearing them and I can tell these are a headphone for many years to come, the lows are better than I've grown accustom to, with ample sub-bass which is non-existant on the Sennheisers, and the highs are clear without being sibilant or harsh; I'm super happy.Especially so, as I tried the new PlayStation Pulse 3D headset prior to these arriving and was disappointed in their small size, discomfort and fake virtual 3D sound. These headphones genuinely seem to let me hear more than I could already with the Sennheiser's, I don't know if that's placebo effect or due to the extra isolation, but it's fantastic.Update 1:I paired these Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 32 Ohm with the Brainwavz XL Large Perforated Replacement Memory Foam Earpads and wow, it really opens up the soundstage! It does lower the bass just a tiny, barely noticeable amount, but you do also get a little more breathability and the lower end gets clearer (though I don't know if that's due to the driver being broken in -- I used a random playlist of high quality music of the genres I enjoy, with a few pink noise tracks mixed in).Note:If you need a microphone apparently the Beyerdynamic MMX300 MkII is the headset to go for as they're the DT 770 Pro enhanced, albeit at the cost of having to plug into the controller on consoles which I found to distort the sound.Update 2:I've since wound some wool around the headband for a little added comfort and to preserve the protein leather. Be warned that faux leather wears down quickly (I could see mine starting to flake after a few days use which is ridiculously bad).I'm sold into the Beyerdynamic family now and would love to try the others. They're well thought out and the spring steel headband ensures confidence in being able to stretch it out for comfort (due to the tight clamp at first) without any plastic creaking or snapping; as is the case with other headbands.
