X-O Odor Neutralizer Cleaner Concentrate with Mild Cleaning Additive - Natural, Plant-Based Odor Eliminator Deodorizer, 32 oz

My sick kitty (bladder infection) went wee on my couch several times. I tried three other products and all helped some, but none eliminated enough of the odor that we couldn't smell urine when coming into the room with the couch (at first they'd work, but slowly the smell would get worse again). So, in a last ditch effort to avoid having to get rid of it, we decided to try X-O. Just as with the other products, I used a needle/syringe to inject the solution into the cushion and the back (our cushions are not removable). I used a 1 part X-O to 2 parts water for this. After injecting it, I poured the mix on top of the cushion to give it a good soaking.So far, so good. It's been over a month. The product's odor was a bit overwhelming for a day or so, but just as the mfr states, there was no odor once dried. Also gone was the majority of the urine odor. If I put my nose right next to the cushion, there's still a hint, so I'm thinking I may need to reapply, but when I sit on, or next to the cushion, I cannot smell it. At first I worried that perhaps I'd just gotten used to the urine smell, but I've asked both friends and family if they could smell anything nasty when they walk in the room or when they sit on the couch, and all have said they can't (and I know, for sure, my parents and at least two of the friends would not have been shy about saying there is a stench!)The only downside is, my dark green couch now has dark outlines along the edges of every area where I applied the solution. We knew this was a possibility going into this, but hubby and I decided that discoloration of some kind was preferable to having to either live with the smell or getting rid of the couch. And, I'm not entirely sure that if I were to now try to clean the couch that the stains wouldn't go away, particularly since the fabric didn't fade. But even if it had, it would have been well worth it.After my success, I applied this to the carpet at my mother's house (no discoloration or staining occurred) where her kitten had taken to going poo in a few spots along a wall when she first brought it home. We used the same ratio for the mix and just poured it onto the carpet and let it soak in. The kitten has not reoffended since. She now does her business only in her litter box.********Update: My mom's kitty went poo in the corner today, but I'm so happy with my couch results I can't take a star off for this. I just wanted to share what happened because we thought the kitten wouldn't do it again after us putting the x-o there. She's not quite 3 months old. Not sure what is attracting her to this spot. She's not done this anywhere else in the house. Will reapply and see if that helps.

This stuff is amazing. Works on everything, cat boxes, pet accidents, even spoiled milk. Plus safe to use on a stinky dog.

I had used this product in the past and was impressed with it. Hadn't gotten a refill in a while but decided to try again as my aging dog is becoming a bit of a smell maker. I have to say this stuff really works! I experimented on the smelliest thing I could find around the house, a little stuffed squirrel dog toy that is really gross but the dog loves it. The stink was gone from the toy amazingly, I also washed it before giving it back to remove any residue. The X-O has a kind of strange odor that invokes old memories. I remember in grade school when someone would throw up in class (happened pretty often as I recall) the janitors would clean up and use some kind of sweet smelling cleaner, that's what the X-O smell reminds me of. I have tried it on funky sneakers, stale car upholstery, various dog bedding and anything around the house that was particularly odoriferous. The initial sweet smell is not the greatest as compared to the many varieties of air fresheners available but it dissipated to pretty much odorless and takes the offending odor with it!

Is always reliable. My stovepipe came loose in my little cabin while at work. The smoke damage was horrific! I couldn't hardly breathe in it afterwards. I sprayed X-O in and on the old stove and everything else. I was able to breathe and there's no smoke smell to this day from the accident. No firefighter, fire department or any other source I tried had any good suggestions. I decided to try this because I'd used it previously and it worked extremely well. I was very fortunate to know about it!!!My neighbor's cats visit my kitties who are on my enclosed porch and spray on the ground below outside, so I just purchased a bottle to totally neutralize the smell.

So far I'm very happy with this. I was surprised at the mixing directions. It calls for 2:1 ratio, that's one cup of cleaner to 2 cups of water, and the bottle only has 3-4 cups in it. I have 2 dogs and one in particular loves to get smelly. I use this on their dog bedding and my sofa and in my bathroom almost daily and it works. When I first mixed it up it left a VERY strong lingering smell. It's been mixed a month now and the other day I used it and it didn't seem to work at all. So now I gently turn the spray bottle upside down once to make sure the product is mixing with the water, and then I spray and it seems fine. It doesn't leave a strong after odor anymore. I don't know if the intensity lessens as it sits once it's mixed up or not, but so far so good. I'm very sensitive to scents but this one is pleasant and even when it was very strong it faded by bedtime (the dog's bedding is in their crates in my bedroom, so if it were too strong I wouldn't be able to sleep in my bed!) I do recommend using this earlier in the day so any after odor has time to dissipate.
