Q: What is the width? I have someone in mind that the wheelchair won't fit through the door and she is terrified of the hoyer.

Before extension the bottom wheels are 24" apart but can extend out to 35" apart at the end and 30" where wheel chair wheels will stop. My wife's small wheelchair easily fits in to where her feet are on the platform and with the sling under her arms I can lift her to a standing position and move the wheels back to 24" then move the lift to a bed or whatever and lower her down. The wheels are close to the floor so the lift will go under most furniture The wheels do not move very well on thick carpet as they are fairly small but I have hardwood floors and they roll very good on these. I have been using the lift for over a year now and very satisfied with it.
