Q: does it cut down trees ok

Yes it will. In fact it was able to cut down a bay tree that our neighbours chainsaw couldn't touch because the blade for that kept going blunt and he ended up buying 2 new ones and then gave up! My husband says the blade is a little bendy and therefore doesn't cut completely straight. But it's brilliant for cutting logs and wet wood. Hope that helps Elizabeth D.

Q: Could i purchase a replacement blade cover. Mine seems to have gone AWOL somewhere.
