Chiostro di Saronno Panettone 1Kg

This was well worth buying. I got it on a special Black Friday deal but honestly it was one of the best Panettones I have had the pleasure to eat! I was moist without being sticky, and had enough fruit (they are not supposed to be packed with fruit like an English Fruit Bread) and the lemon flavour just cut through nicely. Would recommend this make.

Liked the cake but not the best we have had. Sadly the tin was dented on receipt but hey ho I was oly going to use it after for a biscuit barrel.

I've bought Chiostro di Saronno panettone before and been really impressed with it, so thought I treat us to one for Christmas. It came in a lovely tin. The cake/loaf itself isn't as big as you'd hope from the tin, but presumably it's a kilo (I didn't weigh it), so fair enough.The problem this time was that the bottom inch or two hadn't mixed/risen properly, and was hard as a rock. It wasn't edible at all - you couldn't even cut through it. It was a real shame, because the top half of the loaf was delicious; light and fluffy in texture. It was a disappointment, though, to serve it up on Christmas afternoon to the whole family, and for there to be a big hard wedge at the bottom and everyone to get only half a slice.I was going to give it 3 stars, as what was edible was tasty, but I received two emails from the company afterwards, asking for feedback and saying 'please tell us if there's any problem, rather than leaving a negative review'. Great, I thought - they care about their customer feedback, so I took the time to write to them and explain that there had been a problem this time. No reply... nada. Why ask for feedback if you're going to ignore it? Just to try to stop people leaving honest reviews? So, 2 stars, I'm afraid, and I won't be buying from them again.

Purchased the same panettone in John Lewis and as I was running out I looked on Amazon and was glad to see that they stocked it here, As soon as it arrived I opened it and compared the left over bit I had from John Lewis to the Amazon one, and I can assure you that the Amazon panettone to me didn't smell or tasted the same as the John Lewis one.To me this panettone cake is totally awful and very dry compared to John Lewis that was moist, You could smell and taste the orangy flavour and was out of this world. And I am so upset as it was out of stock at John Lewis!!!

The packaging in a tin makes it very attractive (unlike some reviewers, I had no problem with the delivery and the tin was in good shape); however I found the actual cake very dry and, as others noted, lacking in fruit. It's not in any way unpleasant, just a bit disappointing. It was several months within its expiry date and the interior bag was sealed and the tin lid sealed, so it's a feature of the cake not of the packaging.

Delicious ! Cut a slice off (about 1/8th) and warm it up in the microwave for about 50 seconds, spread butter on both sides and enjoy with a cup of fresh coffee. This is my daily ritual and it has added a lot of self indulgent pleasure to my otherwise mundane mornings. Full of fresh chopped pieces of fruit this unusual fluffy cake is a real treat. I love it!

This is the most wonderful panettone I have ever tasted. After having spent all my life in Italy, it was only now I could taste the best panettone . Treat yourself with a special delicacy, produced and packed with great care and delivered at your door. Thank you Chiostro di Saronno and thank you Amazon for fulfilling a Christmas wish. Lovely tin but unfortunately it was dented so I couldn't really give it as a present as planned

While we love panettone, we hadn’t tried this brand previously. It was WAY over-done on the bottom and a bit dried out. We get these for our holiday coffees and this one was a bit of a let down

bien arrivée dans les délais, bonne pur beurre, beaucoup de fruits, aérée je recommande, dommage on ne l'as que pour les fetes de noel !!

I love panettone but this one was very dry. I had to throw the rest out after a couple of slices.

Le panettone est livré dans une très belle boîte en fer, d'un beau rouge. Juste dommage qu'elle ait été légèrement cabossée pendant le voyage.Sinon le panettone est très bon. Une très bonne brioché avec fruits secs, écorce d'orange notamment.

Ich bin von dieser Panettone sehr enttäuscht. Sie ist trocken und sehr süss. Dazu kommt der hohe Preis, der für diese Ware nicht gerechtfertigt ist .Die Dose ist verbeult.Ich wede mir sicher dort keine Panettone mehrbestellen.
