A Good, Versatile Tripod
I'm very pleased with this good quality, reasonably priced tripod. Provided the tilt locking knob and pan locking lever are correctly set (either 'locked' or 'unlocked'), and the centre column lock is tightened, this seems like a sturdy and wobble-free piece of kit.I'm looking forward to using the smooth action fluid head next time I shoot some video footage. A few test recordings reveal the tripod delivers a jerk-free start and end to pans and tilts. The pan and tilt friction is not adjustable, unlike rather more expensive, video-dedicated tripods, but this shouldn't be an issue for most users.I have a DSLR, not a proper video camera, and I imagine it would be fine with heavier cameras too.Setting the tripod up for stills should be a doddle once I've used it a few times. One of the legs unscrews and transforms into a monopod, which can be used with or without the removable centre column to increase the height. Very useful when you're shooting in a crowd. My only slightly negative comment is that the head has a tendency to come loose from the tripod mounting plate when panning left, but this is, I believe, a problem with most 'bowl-free' video tripods - certainly those that don't have grub screws or locking screws to 'bond' the tripod to the head.My solution? A 2" square piece of 1/8" thick rubber, with a 3/8" hole in the middle, between tripod and head. It seems to do the job. This is the tripod I chose to replace my old Slik, which has done solid service from the mid 70s onwards, both for stills and 8mm movies, and yes, I'm very pleased indeed with the TP72A.

Good value for money
After a lot of research I decided to buy this tripod for my Svbony spotting scope. The first order got lost in the post so I had to wait a little longer for the second order. When it arrived I set the tripod up in no time and tested it with my scope. Everything worked smoothly and it kept my scope steady without adding extra weight. Very good value for money and recommend.

A good quality piece of kit
Really love the simple conversion to a monopod, I didn’t think I’d ever use one but I was wrong! My only disappointment, and the reason I rated it with 4 stars, was the struggle I have, when trying to stow the tripod away in the hold-all bag.I needed to remove the quick release plate and the rubber feet to get it in without bursting the zip. The bag is well made it’s just a bit too short! That said, I love the engineering and would definitely buy it again.

Great tripod
Very happy. Very good value for money. Folds down much shorter than my Manfrotto so fits into travel bag. Works well and easy to use.

Awesome piece of kit
The media could not be loaded. I am really excited to be able to receive and review this tripod from NEEWER. I am not a professional photographer just occasional user.I have a number of camera accessories from this brand and have not been disappointed with any of them. The tripod arrives in a cardboard box and has extra polythene padding to protect it in transit. This particular item is a video tripod and although you may conjure in your mind a bulky, heavy device, this particular tripod is neither of those things weighing in at 2.3kg (without camera) thanks to its aluminium alloy construction. It has a particularly clever way of reverse folding to remain compact during transportation and a very strong neat bag with carrying handles or shoulder strap. On removal the tripods instruction sheet is hidden in a side zip of the bag alongside a number of hex keys for tightening of some component parts. It took me a while to discover this so I thought I would mention it. Not that it is particularly needed as the tripod is mostly intuitive.Afterall how hard can it be to extend three legs and mount a camera? But what I did learn from it is how to unscrew the padded leg to create a monopod if required and how to remove the quick release top plate. There is a hidden hex key adjacent to this plate and the plate has more than one different sized attachment screw. The fluid head is very smooth to operate and has a pan lock lever , bubble level and is marked off in degrees. The head has a detachable pan bar that can be fitted to the left or right. The pan bar is a fixed length unlike the separate pan head that can be purchases also by NEEWER.The length is just right however and makes for easy , smooth movement. The head can be tilted near vertical thanks to its design and has a tilt locking knob.I like the locking mechanism design for the centre column. At its base there is a weight hook. This can be unscrewed and the column can be pulled out and reversed for near floor close up work.In case you were wondering, there is a groove to stop the column from twisting? The paint work looks good and I like to colour scheme. The red with the black makes it very easy to see the clamps and looks good too.
