I wouldn't think that it would be affective unless it was applied directly to the nail & skin immediately surrounding it.

Can't see why you couldn't use the wash lotion, but they do a nail pen which may be better. Not sure how much damage has been done to your nails, normally once damaged the nail needs to come off or comes off on its own, then a new one should regrow., Could be wrong, but thought that might need medical intervention to prevent infection. Might be best to seek a medical opinion.
