Q: Can you use a case with this on iPhone ?

I do not own this iPhone attachment only the hand grip, but looking at the picture it sure looks to me that the iPhone in a case would fit.

Q: how is the phone clamped to the grip? Is it spring-loaded, and how strongly does it hold the phone?

It is spring loaded adjustable to phone width....there is a knob in the top of the handle that turns a built in screw and allows you to face the grip in any direction and tighten. It is very strong and well worth buying in my opinion. Enjoy!

Q: Is this made of plastic or metal? Will it go through concert security?

It's MOSTLY plastic. As to the concert security - even if you are stopped, you can always show that this is just a handle for the phone.
