I've owned my Ooni Karu 16 for a few years now and initially I avoided paying the premium price for the Ooni branded infrared thermometer because there are so many cheaper alternatives available. However I came to use the cheaper thermometer I purchased a couple of years ago and found it had died. I replaced the batteries but it was dead dead. A bit rubbish given that it has been dry stored since new and had very little use. So I took to Amazon to look for a replacement. After a while of looking at all the many versions of the same thing I decided I would look at the Ooni official one again...and found that there was a discount offer available so I decided to spend the £20 extra and ordered one. First impressions are that the build quality appears to be much better than the previous, cheaper, model. It feels nice and solid in the hand and the rubberized finish is very pleasing. I like the fact that this thermometer has a proper on/off function. It;s really easy to operate: Switch it on, press the trigger, read the display. The temp range display is a nice touch as it feels more accurate than a single point reading. We shall see how long it lasts....

Expensive but very good

This is an essential for pizza making!

I bought this when I first purchased an Ooni Fyra as wanted to make sure the oven was at the right temperature before putting in the pizza.It's handy to know it's exactly where you need it to be, however after now using the oven over ten times I do find that it's always ready after 15 minutes. Can see myself using this less and less with the Ooni but maybe it will be useful for other things around the house!

A nice Ooni product that's easy to use, well made but rather pricey when you see other makes.
