Great nutrition, good taste (vanilla review)
I recently started Huel and was pleasantly surprised with the taste. For people concerned with the mixed reviews, I'll try to break it down for you. I think I like the flavor simply because of my odd personal preferences (love all things grain and cookie dough). Here's what the vanilla one REALLY tastes like: grainy/oatmealy batter. It tastes fairly doughy, and a little gritty with the grains. Not super sweet, and has a little tiny tinge of bitterness that I don't really notice unless I really think about it. Imagine cookie dough with minimal sugar and salt. Or cake batter with minimal sugar and salt. I make sure mine is watered down quite a bit just because I prefer it to be thinner and not a thick drink. As for the effects on the body, I've only been using it a few days to supplement my breakfast and lunch with one drink (2 scoops and filled to the brim with water) and have noticed a huge difference already. Reviews on the blog indicate there's usually a transition period where your body needs to adjust, but I've been just fine so far. I've noticed more energy and focus, probably in part because I was eating junk before and now I'm getting a more balanced nutrition. I've also noticed that the high fiber content does change some aspects of the body and day-to-day living. It's one thing that apparently a lot of people struggle with when it comes to their gut and flora adjusting to it but I haven't had that problem yet. What I have noticed though, with regard to the high fiber, is the effects on stool (sorry if it's tmi) but higher fiber can contribute to solidification and I don't recall reading that ANYWHERE in reviews, possibly because people don't want to talk about it. But it's a good thing - helps maintain bowel health and, fun fact, studies have shown a higher fiber diet could reduce the risk of colorectal cancer. If you're contemplating trying it due to flavor, think about my description. It's not your average store-bought drink full of amazing flavor, you simply taste the nutrition and that's it. Consider my description of the flavor, and if you think you can tolerate it (reminder, I bought vanilla) then definitely try it.

Too good to be true
I heard about this product from a truck driver he made a huge deal out of it noway it going to hold up to what he was saying.Well I ordered it and I am sure glad I did i drive a truck I had just got me a German shepherd puppy and on are second trip in the middle of nowhere we break down I had not been able to get to the store and get what she needs or buy groceries yet and now I am stuck having nothing to eat. So I mixed up a big glass of Hulu and slammed it not only did it take care of my hunger it tasted delicious I ended up spending 4 days on nothing but Hulu. And my puppy drank it as well we both made it I felt better and was not hungry I went back to eat food because 14 days with nothing but Hulu and I felt like I needed to put food in my face old habits I should have stayed away from the food because I felt better looked better smelled better and enjoyed it. This product is amazing and I am hooked it's in every one of my emergency prep bags I am amazed that I made it to this point. With nothing but Hulu and I feel better.

It took a little getting used to, but I'm super happy with Huel!
From my first sip, I swore "never again."Then I added more water, tried it again, and. it was pretty okay but not great.A couple of weeks later, I'm pretty confident that I'm sticking with Huel over other meal replacements. With another popular meal replacement powder, I found that I was starving just 2 hours after a 400-calorie meal. Huel provides much more consistent energy, especially if you consume it with a serving of fruit or vegetables. I think that's because it has more protein, more fiber, less carbs, and way less sugar than products like Soylent. The taste is rather bland but not unpleasant--just faintly sweet. I've found it drinkable both cold and at room temperature. The shaker bottle is really nice. The filter-y piece at the top is super important to not drinking massive undissolved clumps of powder and drastically improves the experience of consuming Huel. I definitely don't feel that full feeling that you get after eating a normal meal, but it does a decent job of mitigating hunger. I'm pretty happy drinking it for a meal per day, though I'd be pretty hungry if I tried to subsist upon it entirely.

Bland but does the job.
I just got my starter package today and so far it’s a good product. Now, that does NOT mean it tastes good. I got the vanilla flavor and it’s bland as hell. I churched it up with half a scoop of chocolate protein powder and half a scoop of banana protein powder. That only helped a little bit. However I’m not consuming it for the taste, but for the healths benefits and quick convenience so that’s what I’m going to review. The consistency is decent and the meal is filling. I drank it slowly, and a couple of hours later I’m still full.I’ll be updating once in a while as I progress.4 stars for convenience. I docked one star because the package arrived with two scoops, however one of them was cracked. I can’t believe they charge two dollars per scoop.UPDATE:: I just had my second shake and my gas is peeling the paint off the walls. Holy Hell!
