Q: Is this suitable for a five year old?

Yes! My son is five years old and he is pretty hard on his toys and he loves it, the paint is with holding and he likes that you can twist his head around and the wings are bendable but not flimsy so he is sturdy. I fully recommend this for a five year old :)

No difference. The action figure is firm hard plastic but she doesn't stand on her feet.
