I got an old VCR player from a cheap place but the remote control was not included. Now I can watch again my old VHS cassetes using this very useful remote control. Works great!

Hundreds of people have purchased this item, so I assume it just wears out with use. After a couple years, the buttons have to be pressed firmly in order to work and eventually just stop working. The DVD player still works, but eventually it will need to be replaced just like the remote. Nothing lasts forever. It is identical to the one that came with the DVD player except it does not say 'Sony' on it.

I had to order this remote to replace the one that came with a DVD player I recently got for my mom. The remote that came with her new DVD player didn't work (!) so instead of returning the whole thing just because of a faulty remote, I just got a new remote. As expected, it worked right out of the box and didn't need any special setup or programming. Recommended!
